In Loving Memory...

Grandpa Miller

Clarence

Unlike my previous posts, this is a very sad one as I am writing in loving memory of my grandfather, Cliff Miller (my mom's father) and my step-grandfather, Clarence Winstedt (my dad's step-father). My grandpa passed away this past Friday, October 3rd, and Clarence passed away on August 11th. They were both wonderful, godly men, and while my entire family misses them dearly, we also know that they are in at peace in heaven with their Lord and Savior, and we are all very grateful for the comfort that brings. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Although I will not make it home for my grandpa's funeral, I am very grateful that I will be going back to Northern California for a week next Monday. I was shocked to find a good deal on a flight, but I am thankful that I will be able to spend time with my family very soon.

Once I return to Frankfurt, the pace of daily life should pick up quite a bit. Daniel always seems to be busy with work, but I have been playing "the waiting game" a lot lately, as I am still waiting for my work permit to substitute at the local international and DoD schools, and we are also still waiting for all our stuff to arrive! It actually got "misplaced" for a while, but thankfully it was just delayed due to Hurricane Ike, and it will be arriving in less than 2 weeks. So almost exactly 3 months since leaving San Diego, I will finally get to turn this apartment into our home... I am definitely looking forward to that! And at least we do have our car now... it only took 2 months for that to arrive. If patience is a virtue, then I must be becoming quite virtuous :) Basically I am still adjusting to life here in Germany, but I am sure I will get all settled in time. Well, as always, we appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Until next time... God bless!

H... I love it that you did a posting re:grampa -- we had a wonderful service today --- we videotaped it, so you'll get to see it at some point. So glad you're going to be home for a little bit -- I know your mom & dad are looking forward to your visit.
Bless you guys, B
