For a fun way to kick off fall, this past Saturday Ryland and I joined some friends from church at the pumpkin patch at Bates Nut Farm. It is about 50 minutes away but it was definitely worth the drive... there were tons of pumpkins of every shape and size... some even bigger than Ryland!
My friend, Kristen, took a couple of pics of me and Ry... hope you like them as much as I do!
After checking out the "Big Mac" pumpkins, we went to go find a pumpkin for Ry to take home... ya know, one a little more reasonable in size. As you can see, they had plenty to choose from and the boys definitely had fun looking through a bunch of them. Following lots of climbing and searching, Ry found just the right one to take home. He actually tried to take home a whole wagon full but we decided on just the one this time :)
In addition to loads of pumpkins, Bates Nut Farm has some animals as well. Ry and his buddies all really liked the turkeys, llamas, and mini-donkeys.
Next we were off to the straw maze. Ry did lots of walking in the maze but then got a ride from Mommy after a little while. With help from everyone, we found all 8 hidden mail boxes throughout the maze... good job! To finish off the morning, we went on a hayride together...a great way to end a wonderful visit to the pumpkin patch. Now we can't wait to take Daniel next year! Hope you're all enjoying autumn so far... until next time, take care!
